Car rides can be a lot of fun, but I think I may have had my fair share of them in the past week.

Let's review.
Bus ride to North Platte
Bus ride back to Lakin
Car ride to Topeka
Car ride to Auburn
Car ride back to Topeka
Car ride to Nebraska City
Car ride to Sioux Falls
Car ride down to Tulsa
Car ride to Bartlesville then to Sioux Falls
Car ride to Red Oak
Final destination and car ride to Lakin

I think I covered my fair share of roads, but you know what? I loved it all (well maybe not all of it...). I did love seeing wonderful people like my best friend and people with friends and family from all over the state of Kansas. It has definitely been an adventure and I am so thankful it has wrapped up!

There are few things that beat a happy puppy. Tucker, my dog (family dog), and I decided to head to the Kearny County fair and experience the Barnyard Olympics. Yes folks, you read that right... the Barnyard Olympics. Although there were many kids running around enjoying the atmosphere of the fair, Tucker did not enjoy when the little kids would come up to him. He was scared of them!

There are few things that beat a happy puppy.
1. Being with my family in a cool air conditioned hotel room
2. A tasteful dinner at the Olive Garden
3. My mason jar full to the brim with Sweet Tea
4. Spending a week with my best friend
5. A quiet atmosphere

I got in my car earlier today to see that the temperature meter read 113 degrees! 113 degrees outside! Wow. Now I know when your car is sitting out in the sun it will read higher... so I waited. It only dropped to 106 degrees. Now that's hot.

What I took from camp... Don't read the word to finish, read the word to change. Thank you Jesus for speaking through Jeremy Kingsley to preach the word.

I will always love polaroids.
There is just something about vintage memories that draws me in.
This is my family, and I love them.

I'm going camping this week. Now I know it would be wonderful to be camping in this beautiful vintage teardrop trailer, but the kind of camping I'm doing involves air conditioned cabins, staining red koolaide, and a whole lot of sunshine.

Sometimes I think back to when I was in elementary school and would count down the days to Kids Camp. When the day would finally arrive, I'd be all nervous not knowing who my counselor would be or who I would be bunking with. I had my backpack on, lots of ponytail holders in hand so I could be a part of the "Braidy Bunch", and a king size sheet to make my "home" for the week. Yes, those days are long gone, but it is to my enjoyment to look back at how a camper of the week would be honored for memorizing the most scripture and for having the most genuine servant's heart.

As we load onto the bus at 7:30 am Monday morning, we will bustle our way up North to where the air is thick, the lake is full of teenagers dunking one another under the water, and a whole lot of laughter in between. Should call for a week of pure entertainment and joy!

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.” -The Case for Benjamin Button

The thought to place pianos in areas where mass amounts of people will be able to share, is genius. It is a beautiful art to be able to share with people the melodies of my fingers to dance around the piano. Thank you Denver, Colorado for letting me enjoy vacation in a simple joyful manner with my family. Art. It is a beautiful thing.

Pianos in New York City. Check it out

I enjoy drinking lemonade or sweet tea from a Mason Jar. It gives a nostalgic feel to any family get together. It reminds me of the stories that date back years ago. Things like this... make me smile.
